Fourth year VACC apprentice motor mechanic, Dane Rhind who currently works at Knox Mitsubishi has recently been awarded as the Employee of the Year at the company’s Christmas celebrations.

Judged the winner by a panel of senior managers at Knox Mitsubishi, Dane said,

“When I received the award I felt very humbled and thankful. The exact criteria for the selection process to find the winner is unknown to me. But my service manager, Michael Scicluna did mention my dedication and loyalty to the company. I assume this would have helped in the deciding factors in their eventual decision.”

Prior to his award, Dane had just returned from a five-week North American holiday with his family. Touring and visiting venues like Madison Square Garden, Disney World, Universal studios and the Niagara Falls in Ontario, Canada.

Visiting New Orleans, Boston, Las Vegas, Florida and many more places sure made it a busy but exciting time for Dane.

“Dane is an immensely talented, hard-working apprentice and is due to complete his apprenticeship shortly,” said VACC Auto Apprenticeships Field Manager, Steve Tye Din.

“He is genuinely keen and interested to learn the trade and is a highly productive apprentice in the workshop who wants to do well for Knox Mitsubishi. I can understand why he was selected to win such a fine award.”

Dane was rewarded with a $250.00 set of gift cards for his prize winning efforts.

On completion of his apprenticeship, Dane wants to continue to learn and grow his skills as a motor mechanic and ultimately become the best work colleague he can be.
